PUPPIES
AVAILABLE
This page was last updated on November 27, 2008.
If you are interested in the
puppies below, I ask that you please read the
sales contract
and the details below, in its entirety, before inquiring. ~Thank You!
PRICING & PAYMENT:
Price of puppies depend on each individual puppy.
Companion males start at $300 and
females start at $400. I rarely sell
companion puppies above $600.
For specific prices about a puppy, please contact me.
Please also be patient with pricing. Many times, a puppies cannot be
priced until they are 8 weeks of age. Generally male puppies are less
expensive than female puppies. I do not believe in pricing healthy,
"companion" puppies at extraordinary prices. Finally you have found an
affordable breeder, whose main objective is providing healthy puppies to
suitable, loving homes. I truly believe that the Yorkshire Terrier and
Maltese are the loveliest of all breeds. Any suitable family should have
the honor to raise a puppy in their homes at an affordable price. Please
do not email me about prices of future litters. I can not determine a
price of a puppy that hasn't been born, but I can give you a ball park
price. I do not have a waiting list, but I do have a emailing list of
people who are updated on the status of puppies and breed information. I
sell puppies on a first come first serve basis. However, past buyers and
interested families on my waiting list are given purchasing priority.
Please email
me for more information regarding the mailing list.
**I currently do not take
credit cards, but I do have an account with Pay Pal, and will also accept
bank checks and money orders. Payment plans are no longer available,
as it is against Florida law on the sale of a puppy or kitten. Full
payments must be received at pick up before a puppy leaves my home.
ALL deposits on companion puppies (unless
stated otherwise) are refundable. If you decide that
your family is not ready to own a puppy, why should you be penalized?
YOUR money will be refunded. **As of January
26, 2005, I will be granting a 10% discount to families who
have at least one member of their family actively serving in the United
States Military. Of course, military IDs must be present when you pick up
your puppy! Please
email me if you have any further questions about pricing and payment.
A GENERAL RULE ABOUT SIZE:
I
cannot guarantee an adult size of any puppy!
Many times the "runt" of a litter may grow to the same size as
it's litter mates or even bigger. I have even seen the biggest of the
litter grow to be the smallest adult. It is a general assumption that the
majority of my puppies will grow to be in the 3 to 5 1/2 lb range. This
has been the average of all adults. Please understand that I
will not sell any puppy to households with children under the age of seven
years old, because the Yorkie and Maltese breeds are very fragile when
they are puppies. A general rule used by breeders is to
times the 8 to 9 week weight by 3, or times the weight of a 12 to 13
week old pup by 2 to get a ballpark estimate.
For
example, 1 lb @ 8 weeks is 3 lbs full grown and 3 lbs @ 12 weeks is 6
lbs grown. In my experience, this pall bark estimate has been
proven to work about 60% of the time. Most people also believe that you
can determine the weight of a puppy by looking at the parents. Although
this may sometimes be true, most often, a puppy's size may take after
his/her grandparents. This is why it is important to choose a breeder who
has the parents and grandparents on his/her premises, so you can get a
general idea. ALL of my
breeding adults range in the 2.5 to 5.4 lb range. Even though my
adults are in that range, I have raised puppies that have grown to be 1
1/2 lb to 7 lbs. You can also get an idea of how big puppy will be
at maturity by following this growth
chart. **Please note that there is
no such thing as a TEACUP puppy.
Yes, I do have tiny dogs, but AKC does not recognize TEACUPS as a
size. Please note that I will delete any email referring to such
standards. This is a BIG indication that you have not done enough research
about the breeds I offer. Please see
YTCA's Teacup Info Page for more information! Remember, any breeder
who refers to such standards may be a sign of someone who may be breeding
for the business and not the breed itself.
100% HEALTH GUARANTEED:
All puppies arrive at their forever homes at 10 to
16 weeks of age (depending on size), with AKC registration,
health
certificate & guarantee, a vet examination, current on all shots and worm
treatments, microchipped and will be paper trained. My puppy starter kit
booklet and a free toy included. Puppies will
also be bile acid tested at 10 weeks of age to detect future liver
shunt or hypoglycemia problems.
By the way,
Florida law section 828.29 states that private puppy sellers
are exempt from giving you a health guarantee. But why would you choose to
purchase a puppy from a breeder who isn't confident about the dogs he/she
raises? However,
for each dog offered
for sale within the state, the tests, vaccines, and anthelmintics required
by this section must be administered by or under the direction of a
veterinarian, licensed by the state and accredited by the United
States Department of Agriculture, who issues the official certificate of
veterinary inspection.
Think about that before you
spend $1200 on that Yorkie from a breeder who does not provide a health
certificate. Please educate yourself before you purchase a puppy. Only
persons who have full knowledge of the Maltese or Yorkshire Terrier breeds
are considered for adoption of my puppies.
PUPPY PICK UP & DELIVERY:
As I stated on the first page, I
DO NOT ship my babies. I have a requirement that the
entire family must come to pick up their puppy and meet me!
This includes other family pets!
My main goal is to develop relationships with the families who
adopt my puppies. If you reside outside the state of Florida, and you are
looking for a reputable breeder, please feel free to email me. I know a
number of breeders all over the U.S. and wouldn't mind recommending one.
The relationships I build with my
buyers does not end once they pick up there puppies. The friendship last
the full length of the life of the puppy.
I ask that yearly updates be sent to me via email so I know how everything
is going. I also encourage my buyers to meet up with me an others every
year at an Annual Yorkie Picnic held by the local YTCA chapter. I
also ask that if a puppy ever becomes unwanted for any reason during it's
life, that I be the first to have the option to repurchase and eventually
relocate him or her. **Newly
completed puppy play room pictured to the right!
BREEDING RIGHTS:
Puppies
purchased as a pet, must be meant for companion purposes only. A
spay/neuter agreement must be signed before the puppy leaves my home.
Although many may say that a high number of my puppies are of show
quality, I mainly breed for companion homes. However, I have "SHOW
QUALITY" puppies available to reputable and promising breeders from time
to time. Pedigrees are available upon requests. Many of my furbabies come
from national champions, including Brazilian and Hungarian bloodlines.
Please no show quality puppy will leave my home before 16 weeks of
age. Show Quality puppies with breeding rights start at
$1000
for males and $1500
for
females. Show Quality puppies will not be priced until 16 weeks of age. I
have a waiting list for Show Quality puppies. A deposit is required to be
place on my waiting list. You DO NOT have to reside in Florida to
purchase a Show Quality puppy, however, I ask that you come and visit at
least once with me! If you are interested in a show quality puppy, please

3 references from previous puppy buyers and (2.) at least two
recommendations from approved AKC breeders in good standing
with YTCA membership, and I will respond within 24 hours.
